Great Parish Cook-Off at SMOW Results

A good time was had by all at SMoW‘s very first Great Parish Chili Cook-Off!

The competition was stiff, featuring 14 entries from our illustrious chefs. Every single chili brought its own twist with acombination of wonderful flavors.

We are so blessed to have had many fantastic bakers bring delicious goodies to complement the main dishes. We all left with full bellies and big smiles on our faces.

Chili Cook-Off Winners:

 2nd Place: Judy Niese

 3rd Place: Jim Grider

Father Shawn also handed out some very witty awards with a biblical flair—it was very entertaining!

During the event, the Ohio State game was on for the bigger kids, while the little ones enjoyed festival games with plenty of prizes.

By the end of the day, we netted $543 for the new landscaping project at the Little Fatima statues across from the church. The old bushes and trees were sadly declining and needed to be cleared last year.  If you would like to contribute to this effort, please contact Amy in the parish office.
