Hello From Abroad - Fr. Jacob Lindle

Updated: Nov 19

Beloved members of Mary, Queen of Angels Family of Parishes:

Sia Iodato Gesù Cristo! Peace and all good from across the ocean. Life in Italy has been filled with gift upon gift. I spent the first months in northern Italy on Lago Maggiore learning Italian, and as I was learning, I got to visit some great saints buried up near the area like St. Augustine, St. Ambrose, St. Charles Borromeo, Don Bosco, Bl. Pier Giorgio, and St. Gianna.

After two months Of language school, I moved down to Rome to start classes. It's pretty difficult and humbling to learn in Italian, but it is such a gift to learn about the Church Fathers. They are the real deal. And it is an incredible gift just to be in Rome itself. The beauty of the churches is out of control, and there are so many saints buried here: Peter and Paul, Philip and James, Simon and Jude, Bartholomew, Cecilia, Monica, Catherine of Siena, Philip Neri, John Paul II, and the list goes on.

I love praying with the saints and asking them to teach me how to pray, and I also ask them to pray for all of you. Here in Rome, I live close to the Trevi Fountain in a "house" which is kind of like a seminary with 55 priests from the United States. We have a great community.

But of course, I miss all of you. Thankfully, we are always united in the Body and Blood of Jesus at every Holy Mass - whether in Rome or the great state of Ohio. I pray for you all each day. Please pray for me! In the infinite love of Jesus,

Fr. Jacob Lindle
